Black History Month Staff’s Watch List
40 Acres (2024) 

Joan selects 40 Acres, a powerful Canadian drama that reimagines survival, legacy, and land ownership through a Black lens. Set in a near-future where resources are scarce, the film follows a multigenerational family fiercely protecting the farmland they’ve built and preserved. Straw (2025)

Stacy selects Straw for our Black History Month watch list. Black Panther (2018)

Rowan selects Black Panther. Directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Chadwick Boseman, the film showcases the fictional African nation of Wakanda as a symbol of innovation, strength, and pride.
